This week we talk patch 1.8, some of the new features, what we think of them, and what we have experienced so far.

What we did in game:

Sallennia
Rifts and Invasions in Ember Isle to collect Molten Ingots, right before the event changed.  Didn’t quite get enough for my planar essence.
Drunk rifting night, fire and earth and crafting rifts in Stillmore, and Shimmersand
World event dailies in an effort to get Nebula!  Goodbye Molten Ingots!
Crafting dailies for the first time in months.

Chris
Fishing, Survivalin’ and stuff.
Drunk Rifting night was a blast as always.
Raid – Hammerknell.
Gotta start doing Chronicles again. I need that mount….

Guild Finder in 1.8

  • Open your Guild panel (G), bottom left tab is Recruit.
  • Information available is :
    • Description
    • Categories: Role Play, PVP, Leveling, Hardcore, Casual, Raiding, World Content, Dungeons
    • Roles Needed : Tank, Heal, Damage, Support
    • Minimum Level required
    • Available Weekdays
    • Available weekends
  • Then there is the ‘list in guild finder’ button at the bottom.

If you are looking for a guild, you will be able to see all the information chosen to represent each guild, to find the best match.

The Collegium is not in the Guild Finder as yet, anyone wishing to join us can sign up on our guild launch website and mention in the notes that you listen to the podcast!

World Event: Nebula and Spindrel : See the Spirit Indiran in Meridian at the event grounds.

  • 2 Crystalline Rage each
    • In order to get 2 rage’s you need to complete daily quests.  The repeatable quest “Victory begins at Home” asks you to complete 8 of the Manton Maw Daily quests to receive 1 Crystalline Rage.
    • You seem to be able to get 3 of the dailies per day to count towards the 8, but don’t quote me on that.  The dailies are things like, augment wardstones, defeat rift creatures that grant experience, defeat a foothold using such and such skill, close major rifts to collect orders, as well as turning in 500 Molten Gold Ingots. (Yes, they are still useful and can also be used to buy planar essence etc)

Noteworthy after patch 1.8

  • Chronicles now have daily quests from the same place you get daily rift and raid quests.  (Raj in Meridian Planar college)
  • They have added a greater variety of loading screens for higher level characters travelling to Meridian and Sanctum.  (can we please get a new loading screen for entering the game, getting really tired of looking at Alsbeth!)
  • Looking For Group tool changes: When your party signs up for a LFG, the tool takes a ‘snapshot’ of the group.  The group can then break up, add members, join raids or dungeons, or IA all without being dumped from the LFG tool.  When the queue is ready, the original group who signed up will all get the message to join.  So when it’s a slow night, you can continue on with other things, and still join together with your prefered friends to run your dungeon etc.



LEADERBOARDS

  • Summary lists.  Everyone is placed in a category ie: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond.
  • We begin randomly and then progress up based on our numbers?  Each player is randomly put in a group of a 100 to compare to, for the summary, and is given a score based on stats.
  • You can view different time frames for tracking info ie: Best week, This week, last week.  Best of all, you can compare with ‘friends’ or ‘guild’.
  • There are also separate categories to view ie: PVE General, Crafting, PVP etc.
    • In PVE General, Chris and Sallennia are in the same grouping, Sallennia ranked 23, and Palmazar 26th.
    • Guild ranking: Monsters Killed Sal – 1704 #6 in the guild, Pal – 1548 #7 in the guild.
    • Invasions Defeated: Sal 102 #5 in guild, Pal – 23 #16 in guild.
    • Rifts closed: Sal 41 #3 in guild, Pal 28 #5 in guild.
