Too Long; Didn’t Listen episode 25 — Free to play

Great show with just the right amount of salient discussion and humour about all things MMO. Since you asked for a suggestion for a topic – here is my two cents worth. 

Children and MMOs – if you’re child is interested in playing an MMO because they’ve seen one or both of their parents playing it, what are your views on the best way to introduce them to the game. As a parent my 4 year old son, loves to sit and play Lotro with me but he calls it the bashing rocks game. He loves to bash rocks, ride the horse, fall off cliffs, spin around until I’m dizzy and then cast the magic spell to take him back to town. My wife and I have discussed this recent event and we’ve agreed that he can play so long as he’s not exposed to any combat and I play with him at all times. Children’s opportunities to access video games and television are now almost mainstream. As a parent, do you have any rules or strategies about your child’s access to these entertainment mediums and what do you think we can do to make this a positive learning experience for our children?
