WoW’s server blade auction raises $330,000 for St. Judes

  • Several months ago, we discussed on MMO Reporter that World of Warcraft was auctioning off it’s former server shards, the physical pieces of hardware that the game ran on, for charity.
  • With the charity now complete, it’s been announced that the auction raised a total of $330,000 for St. Judes.
  • It’s easy to see MMO gamers as self obsessed, obsessive compulsive and lazy, well, that’s just me, but this shows that the community really has a good heart. That, or they just wanted the phat lootz and to be able to say that they owned their own WoW server.

Guild Wars 2 devs Eric Flannum and Colin Johanson livestream

Bioware-Mythic Announces Ultima Forever  - Quest for the Avatar

  • There’s very little news about this game so far, with the splash page simply showing a map, 2 classes: Mage and Fighter, and some concept art.
  • While it’s easy to see that this will not be the same Ultima that we foundly remember from our youths, it’s a little hard to complain when it’s been so long since we’ve seen anything from the IP.
