  • Leveled my trooper a bit.

ANEXXIA

  • Brainstormed alternative character names to accommodate losing some of my names in the next wave of forced server transfers
  • In the end, didn’t actually log in– was too overwhelmed by the housekeeping aspect

How to make it through a forced server merger.

  1. Make sure you have name placeholders on the destination server
  2. Once you determine which names will not be available to you, start brainstorming for new names. There are some SWTOR naming resources over at Inquisitor’s Roadhouse.
  3. Once the mergers have taken place, keep an eye on the #SWTOR tag on twitter and the swtor subreddit to see what Qs people are asking and what bugs or other issues they are raising before you log in
  4. Your friends and guildies may have had to rename themselves. Start a guild forum or SWTOR.com forum thread to help folks get reacquainted.
  5. Your guild may have been renamed. If your guild’s name was duplicative, you will have ended up with YourGuildName@OriginServer as a guild name. Now’s a great time to consider a more amusing SWTOR guild name.
