I’m a bit sad that LOTRO is going down this route.. I feel like more and more the game is about the store. If you have a good game and talented artists, people will pay for new skins/horses/dresses whatever. League of Legends is a good example with the skins. Guild Wars (the first one) is a good example with the costumes (of which I’ve bought almost all of them). Or WoW – which is kind of a “freak” here, coz of the subscription, but still, ppl buy the pets and mounts because they look cool. I wish Turbine did the same.. charging for things they put effort in, not COLORS.
I could go on a rampage here, but only beacuse I used to love LOTRO, and I care, but I’m finding myself disheartened by these things lately and playing less and less..

But on a lighter note.. nice show, I LOVE the new hosts :)

I fully expected to pay for warsteed appearance upgrades. I had set some money aside to convert to TP to buy these things, as all indication from beta is it was going to be completely store dependent.

Having been a lifetime subscriber from the get go, I have no problem with the Turbine store and putting money into it to buy some of the fluff I want.

At this time, the problem I am really running into is the fact it costs me almost 7 dollars in points to get a pack of four colors when I only want ONE color. The other colors in the pack are completely useless to me. Sure, lower prices would be nice. Making them account wide would be great. Breaking them up into single colors for 150TPwould be sufficient.

At this time I have taken the money I set aside and put it towards other hobbies of mine. I have bought a Shaggy Roan hide for 595 with VIP Turbine points I get every month. I consider this price a tad spendy but not-so-much as to be grumpy about it. I was just waiting a bit to make sure the Shaggy Roan was the one I wanted. I also plan on buying ONE of the gear slot accessory pieces you get from the store for 395. Still a bit high, but do-able.

As for now I am still boycotting the colors themselves, as well as putting real money into the Turbine store. Things may change my mind later but I can not in good conscience spend 595 TP on what is essentially a single color (the 3 other similar colors are useless to me). As it is right now I have to buy two color packs just to get my steed to look the way I want it (hide and hair) and a third color pack to make my Steed of the Hunter Caparison actually match the travel mount,.
