EA Is Dipping In to "Secret World"
Jan 11th
I’ve been a huge fan of White Wolf for many years. Knowing the MMO is coming has me jumping off the walls, begging for some information. I do love MMOs that meet somewhere in the balance of fantasy and horror. “Secret World” – the upcoming title from Funcom looks to be just that.
There’s just one catch. The game is a classless and leveless (Is that a word? No. It is now!) game. You are going to progress through this world where you are a member of some super secret society with no levels and no class to choose. How will they do this? Good question, but I’m interested to know the answer.
Last week, EA announced they had reached an agreement with Funcom to co-publish “Secret World”. Well, that makes it more interesting. EA has had no problem in the past publishing successful games and they didn’t slow down during the Holidays in 2010 either. All right, Funcom. You got us. We’re paying attention to you, now.
The website for Secret World has some information and some amazing videos to look at. They also offer a community for players to get involved in the game before launch.
Rift Beta Event Live Blogging (Closed)
Dec 28th
Rift’s 3rd beta event started earlier today and I have jumped into the fray along with the rest of us. My attempt is to continue to break things and see what has changed. For the next hour or so, I’ll be live blogging what I’m up to in Rift.
Where am I? On the Faeblight shard as Candace, the Eth Cleric. Keep checking the page for more updates or hit that refresh button!
6:45 – Candace was just created a few minutes ago. I chose a Warden to begin with. Maybe a healing soul at the beginning is a bad idea. We’ll see.
6:50 – OK so Warden isn’t too bad. Water jet is a nice offensive ability and the little heal over time is nice. It’s cool to see that the global cool down issue has been rectified. I can soft queue abilities now. This makes combat much better. I also love seeing all the classes available at the beginning.
6:55 – Chose my secondary soul which is the Druid. Holy cow, I have a fairy. Now this is cool.
7:03 – Sweet. I have my talents already. Is it me or do we gain more skill points now? It seems like it is that way which is a great thing considering I have two classes to deal with. For now, I am focusing on Warden for the heals over time and the Druid’s melee combat. More >
Rift: Planes of Telara Reveals a New Dungeon
Dec 16th
Currently, Rift: Planes of Telara is in it’s closed beta phase. The game is highly anticipated and hyped to be one of next year’s “big hits”. Since they recently signed a deal with Ubisoft, that thought may not be too far fetched.
Rift: Planes of Telara has given us one amazing preview after another of the dynamically changing world of Telara. The latest dungeon – the Iron Tomb – is no exception. You can expect to weave through catacombs, taking on cultists and the restless dead as part of the continued fight to rid Telara of evil.
Screen caps of the Iron Tomb and concept art are available after the break. More >
