We’re building our 10th pet battle team on the show this week! We’ve fought with a lot of great pets along the way, and I think it’s time we return to our roots and build a team without some fancy aesthetic theme. It’s time to build a team that wins, composed entirely of pets we’ve used in previous teams.
The very first team we tested was our Mechanical Monsters team, which revolved around casting Lightning Storm, the weather effect that boosts Mechanical damage and adds damage to every hit taken. It’s a fun team, and I still get messages about once a week from new pet battlers trying it out and having success with it.
So this week, when we’re celebrating our 10th team, we’re going to pay homage to the classic. This is a little team that I like to call Lightning Storm 2.0
In a world obsessed with zombies, pet battlers cried out for a hero–a team that could rise up and defend the world against the undead threat in the way that only chlorophyll-powered turrets can.
The people demanded a plants pet battle team, and we built one for them. But did it actually hold up its end of the bargain? Did it save the world or watch it burn? Let’s find out in this week’s review episode.
We all know Garrosh is about to get what’s coming to him. That big, brutish jerk of an orc tried to kill my hero, Vol’jin, and for that alone, I’m going to make sure all my Troll characters are in the Orgrimmar raid that comes with patch 5.4 next Tuesday to help Vol’jin take him down once and for all.
But this is a pet battle podcast, and we care about what Blizzard is doing to our beloved tiny creatures/elementals/robots on September 10, when patch 5.4 hits!
There are a lot of Undead pets roaming out there in PvP right now. It’s not really surprising: their passive is one of the best in the game, and they’ve got a lot of cool attacks.
But it’s still a problem, because these undead zombies are killing me. And that makes me sad. But if Popcap’s awesome tower defense game taught me anything, it’s that zombies have one crucial weakness: plants!
So this week, we’re building a team filled only with leafy greens your mother would be proud to see on your dinner plate.
This week, Chris and Layanor talk about Shadowrun Online, Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade, and World of Warcraft losing more subscribers as Harry frantically Google for a answer he can not find.
If Calvin and Hobbes comic strips and museums are to be believed, dinosaurs were ferocious, terrifying monsters that once ruled our wonderful globe (and, if Jurassic Park is to believed, they would also easily crush our feeble human machinations if allowed to return today).
But can the dinosaur pet battle team succeed in replicating that pure domination that will drive our opponents to madness? Let’s find out in this week’s review.
When the epic Beasts of Fable pets stepped onto the scene back in March, they ruled pet-battledom. Their huge health pools and crazy-hard-hitting abilities mopped the floor with our pathetic pets and made us look like level 1 noobs.
That is, until we figured out how to beat them all with super cheesy tactics guaranteed to win. But the pet gods were not content with our domination, and the Beasts of Fable were revamped in patch 5.3 to make them harder to kill.
So this week, I went out and fought every last one of them, testing old strategies and devising new ones. Now I’m ready to present to you, the new and improved guide to beating every epic Beasts of Fable pet. You can always view the old guide when you’re feeling nostalgic.
This week, Chris, Harry, and Layanor cuss a lot! NSFW this show! We talk about the new Guilds Wars 2 content, Tera’s new content, and talk about a new kickstarter for a incredible new game called Anthymn.
Chris and Harry retake Layanor’s show this week! We talk about virtual WoW servers, Maple Story’s new content, and a very long talk about Rift’s new Rex currency.
